Terra Charge's Initiative at Mercari Stadium
In a groundbreaking move to enhance electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure,
Terra Charge Co., Ltd. has introduced 24 newly installed 6kW charging stations at
Mercari Stadium, home to the prestigious J1 soccer team,
Kashima Antlers, located in
Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Starting on
November 19, 2025, the service aims to cater to fans and local residents, establishing a significant hub for EV charging.
Promoting Local Sustainability through Public Facilities
Mercari Stadium stands out as one of Japan's premier soccer-only venues, attracting an average of
25,000 visitors during home games. Many attendees arrive by car, making easy access to charging stations crucial. The newly installed EV chargers will not only provide convenient charging opportunities during matches but also contribute to the region's sustainable infrastructure development.
The charging process is designed to be user-friendly, with guests able to scan a QR code for a hassle-free experience that doesn’t require a dedicated app in
guest mode. This innovation symbolizes the fusion of sports and technology, fostering community engagement and sustainability efforts in the area.
Enhanced Charging App for User Convenience
In line with this initiative, Terra Charge has also updated its EV charging application, which is available for both
iOS and Android platforms. The revamped app features an intuitive design aimed at improving user experience, allowing customers to access charging services seamlessly. The app ensures that users can easily locate charging stations, manage their charging sessions, and stay informed about any developments regarding service offerings.
