Hippocra's Comprehensive Renewal: Enhancing Physician Support and Accessibility

ExMedio Inc., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has officially unveiled a revamped version of its online medical community, Hippocra, which serves over 74,000 physician members across Japan. The Hippocra app for iOS and Android has been redesigned, alongside the web version, aimed at improving accessibility for services and information available to physicians.

Since its establishment in 2014, ExMedio has been dedicated to addressing disparities in medical resources, improving diagnostic precision, and offering specialized support to physicians through a variety of services. While the offerings have expanded, user interviews revealed that there was still room for improvement in accessing those services.

The motivation for this redesign stemmed from internal discussions about how to better facilitate physicians’ cross-utilization of services. There was a consensus that Hippocra's potential was not fully communicated to its users. Dr. Sōsuke Iizuka, who will assume the role of Chief Medical Officer in January 2025, led the comprehensive redesign with a focus on usability from a physician's perspective.

Features of the Renewed Hippocra

The updated interface categorizes previously mixed-content into three distinct areas:
1. Entertainment Zone: This section includes news, comics, debates, and rankings designed to engage physicians daily. It aims to blend enjoyment with professional growth.
2. Information Zone: Physicians can quickly find resources such as recent research papers, guidelines, and educational seminars, significantly streamlining their learning process.
3. Support Zone: This area focuses on clinical consultations, peer-to-peer exchanges, and community discussions, allowing doctors to voice their concerns and seek advice from others in their field.

The homepage has been completely redesigned to allow physicians to navigate freely between these zones. A new global navigation system provides a clear overview of all the services offered by Hippocra, reinforcing the concept of
