EVE Energy Launches World’s First 400 MWh Energy Storage Project Using 628 Ah Batteries

EVE Energy's Breakthrough in Energy Storage

EVE Energy, a leader in large battery technology, has recently accomplished a remarkable feat in the energy sector. The company successfully launched the world’s first energy storage project with a capacity of 400 MWh that utilizes ultra-large 628 Ah cells. This project is a significant advancement for the company, which has built on its previous successes in mass production and deployment of large battery cells.

A Pioneering Initiative

Located in Lingshou, Hebei Province, China, this groundbreaking energy storage system was connected to the grid as part of the second phase of the Ruite New Energy project. This achievement not only showcases EVE Energy's capabilities in research and development but also marks an important milestone in the era of large batteries for energy storage.

The energy storage systems are rapidly evolving in terms of scale and market readiness amid a global energy transformation. Batteries exceeding 600 Ah are essential for improving energy density, lowering lifecycle costs, and enhancing safety and reliability. On September 8, EVE Energy and State Grid Power Technology successfully commissioned a 200 MW/400 MWh standalone energy storage project—the first extensive application of 628 Ah cells in a system with a capacity of 100 MWh. This sets a new standard for the industry.

Efficient Deployment and Operation

In just one week, EVE Energy demonstrated exceptional project execution capabilities by delivering and connecting 80 Mr.Giant energy storage systems and 40 integrated converter boxes to the grid. The company has proven its expertise through comprehensive quality control, engineering coordination, commissioning, and operational support, showcasing its maturity in the deployment of large battery technology.

Supporting Modern Energy Networks

As the first operational large battery energy storage project with a capacity of 100 MWh in the world, this initiative provides critical practical experiences for extensive applications in the energy sector. It significantly enhances peak load shaving in regional grids and frequency regulation, increases energy supply reliability, aids in the integration of renewable energy sources, and supports carbon goal optimization in Hebei Province.

Global Expansion of Mr.Giant

On September 10, EVE Energy completed its first overseas shipment of the Mr.Giant energy storage system, equipped with 628 Ah cells, to Australia and Europe. The minimalistic design and high efficiency, alongside low noise levels (≤65 dB), and capability for long-duration storage of four hours or more, have garnered international recognition, illustrating the global expansion of Chinese large cell technology. Throughout the process—from initial grid connection to international deliveries—EVE Energy maximized the market application of 628 Ah batteries, moving the industry into a more efficient, cost-effective, and reliable new phase.

Building the Future in Energy

Looking ahead, EVE Energy remains committed to its strategy focused on technology and manufacturing, and it strives to collaborate with global partners to promote the transition to green energy. Its recent accomplishments signify a major stepping stone for the industry, paving the way for innovations in high-capacity energy storage and sustainable energy solutions.
