The 6th China International Consumer Products Expo: Celebrating Global Collaboration

On April 13, 2026, the 6th iteration of the China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) was inaugurated in Haikou, Hainan. This significant event marks the first major expo since the implementation of special customs operations at Hainan's Free Trade Port and takes place during China's 15th Five-Year Plan. Hainan has set sights on enhancing its global stature, as evidenced by this year's international focus—65% of exhibitors are from abroad, encompassing over 3,400 brands from more than 60 countries.

Canada, selected as the Guest of Honor for this year's expo, sent its largest delegation yet, consisting of nearly 40 companies committed to showcasing what the nation has to offer. In addition to Canada, twelve countries, including Switzerland and the Czech Republic, dispatched official delegations, while nations such as Russia and Bulgaria made their debut with national pavilions.

The expansive exhibition space of 143,000 square meters—13,000 square meters larger than last year's venue—buzzed with activity. With an estimated attendance of approximately 65,000 professional buyers, the event promises to stimulate rich opportunities for global collaboration. The simplified duty-free trade policies at the FTP have enabled seamless customs clearance for foreign goods, allowing for their immediate sale at the expo.

Hainan's High-Tech Industrial Development Zone showcased impressive advancements with over 300 products from 43 local companies, highlighting innovations in health and advanced manufacturing. Notably, more than 200 new items made their debut, ranging from AI-powered smart glasses to modular flying cars, and the world premiere of a high-tech wellness chair. Esteemed industry leaders like Huawei, Estée Lauder, and TCP Group returned to the spotlight alongside numerous first-time exhibitors, reinforcing global confidence in China's consumer market and Hainan's openness.

In addition to showcasing products, the expo features a global investment promotion conference aimed at converting exhibitors into long-term investors. Specialized partner-seeking sessions for multinational corporations are also planned. Notable agreements were reached on-site, including commitments from Swiss company Clinique Lémanic to establish a presence in Hainan.

As this event unfolds, it serves not only as a platform for business but also underscores Hainan's vision of becoming a global trade nexus. With this year's CICPE, there's a palpable spirit of international collaboration, signaling the province's readiness to embrace and pioneer future trade endeavors. The expo stands as a testament to Hainan’s evolving role in the global marketplace and sets the stage for enhanced dialogue and engagement among participants across various industries.
