Asahi World Forum 2025: An Expanded Agenda for Social Awareness



The Asahi Shimbun Company, led by CEO Katsushi Kakuda, has announced additional sessions for the upcoming Asahi World Forum 2025, which will commence on October 24. This international forum will be a platform for discussing various global issues, with a particular focus on significant upcoming events in Japan.

One highlight is the introduction of the Deaflympics, the first international sports competition for the hearing-impaired, which will take place in Japan this November. The additional session titled “A World Without Sound, A Sport Without Sound—Reflections on Society through the Deaflympics” invites participants to think critically about the inclusivity of sports and the broader societal implications.

Another notable session, “Envisioning a Greener Tomorrow from Yokohama,” will lead discussions directed toward the 2027 International Horticultural Exhibition set to be held in Yokohama. This session aims to address environmental concerns and the future of sustainability.
