Fujikura's Innovative Fiber-Fusion Technologies
In October 2023, Fujikura, led by CEO Naoki Okada, will launch two groundbreaking products designed to revolutionize the fiber optics industry: the new core alignment fusion splicer, "100S," and the advanced fiber cutter, "CT60." These tools are engineered not just to meet the demands of the industry but also to significantly enhance the efficiency and quality of fiber connection work.
New Core Alignment Fusion Splicer - "100S"
The "100S" fusion splicer is optimized for long-distance transmission, emphasizing low-loss fiber connections through precise core alignment. This device can be paired seamlessly with the new "CT60" fiber cutter and the single-core stripper "SS05," delivering a remarkable 20% reduction in connection work time due to its enhanced functionality (

Ease of Use for All Skill Levels
One of the standout features of the "100S" is its splice coach function, which provides clear instructions for each connection step. This innovative addition enables even those with minimal experience to carry out procedures smoothly. The device also incorporates GPS technology, which records connection test results alongside location data, enhancing efficiency and traceability in cable management. Users can easily download these records using the smartphone app "Splice+" (2).
Moreover, the "100S" supports automatic features that were present in its predecessors, such as wind protection that activates automatically and the "ACTIVE FUSION CONTROL TECHNOLOGY" (
3) that ensures optimal discharge conditions. With the "ACTIVE BLADE MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY" (4) included, users can also track the status of the blade wirelessly, ensuring reliable and consistent low-loss connections every time.
New Fiber Cutter - "CT60"
The "CT60" fiber cutter has undergone a thorough redesign to enhance stability and cutting quality compared to earlier models. It introduces an adjustable lever opening mechanism, allowing for easy use in various situations—whether on a tabletop or while handheld. This aspect of the design aims to maximize usability across different environments.
In addition, the "CT60" features an automatic rotation capability for worn blades, a characteristic inherited from previous models. By utilizing newly developed, wear-resistant cutting blades, the cutter eliminates the need for blade height adjustments, streamlining operations even further.
Fujikura is committed to contributing to societal advancement through the development of next-generation communication infrastructure, facilitating the digital society of the future by consistently delivering innovative and valuable products.
Notes:
1. Based on tests comparing the "100S" with Fujikura's previous models under set conditions, achieving approximately 20% shortened fiber fusion connection time.
2. The "Splice+" app serves as a utility for Fujikura’s fusion splicer tools, allowing users to check fusion connection data and usage frequency of cutter blades once downloaded on their smartphones. (Note: Data charges may apply.)
3. "ACTIVE FUSION CONTROL TECHNOLOGY" analyzes the fiber end-face condition before fusion, managing real-time discharge variables for optimal results.
4. "ACTIVE BLADE MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY" enables the fusion splicer to monitor cutting blade conditions and detects wear, automating the rotation of the blade wirelessly when necessary.
