Celebrating 25 Years of News Securities
On August 14, 2026, News Securities Co., Ltd. commemorated its 25th anniversary with a distinguished seminar titled "Vietnam’s Economic Transformation in 2026: Ambitions for Market Upgrade and 10% GDP Growth." Held in Tokyo on July 18 and in Osaka on August 1, the event was co-hosted with ACB Securities (Asia Commercial Bank Securities) and drew considerable attendance at both venues.
Seminar Overview
With the anticipation of an upgrade to its market classification, Vietnam is entering a new phase of growth targeted at achieving a government-set GDP growth rate of 10%. This seminar aimed to bridge the gap between this pivotal economic transition and Japanese investors.
In Tokyo, ACB Securities' CEO, Nguyen Duc Hoan, delivered a keynote speech, followed by a panel discussion featuring executives from four major publicly listed Vietnamese companies. The Osaka venue focused on online IR presentations and individual meetings, with attendees including representatives from the Vietnam State Securities Commission (SSC).
Highlights from the Panel Discussion
The main session in Tokyo featured a panel discussion revolving around the "Current Status, Strategies, and Future of the Vietnamese Market." Moderated by the President and CEO of News Securities, Mitsuki Saito, alongside Nguyen Viet Ha, CEO of Kennet Company Ltd., the panel included leadership from ACB Bank, BAF, Digiworld, and CMC.
The discussion was structured into three segments: the current status, strategies involving AI and digital transformation, and future perspectives. Various topics such as the utilization of AI, digital transformation (DX), risk management, governance, and the prospects for Japan-Vietnam collaboration were addressed. Saito emphasized the growing interest among Japanese investors in AI and DX, stating:
"The interest in AI and DX among Japanese investors has never been higher. Vietnam is seen not just as a development outsourcing destination but as a 'strategic partner' in advanced technology development. I believe that advancements in technological capabilities paired with strong governance will be the key to fostering further capital inflows from Japan."
Strengthening Partnerships with ACB Securities and New Wealth Management Initiatives
The seminar highlighted the strengthened partnership between News Securities and ACB Securities, which formalized their collaboration in April 2026 at ACB Securities’ headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City. As a result, both companies are enhancing access to local firms and research capabilities, establishing a platform for business matching between Japanese and Vietnamese companies and investors.
Additionally, Kazuharu Nakazono, a director at News Securities and the CEO of group company News Asset Management, announced the evolution of their wealth management services beyond traditional brokerage, along with the establishment of a new fund focused on investment opportunities in Vietnam. Details regarding the timing and specifics of the fund will be disclosed once finalized.
