The 'Zushi Machi Ichi' event is set to take place on May 25, 2025, from 10 AM to 3 PM at the picturesque Zushi Hikagezaka Park in Machida. This festival, which celebrates the relationship between greenery and everyday life, aims to enhance community vibrancy and provide an opportunity to engage with nature. The festivities are scheduled to proceed rain or shine, except in cases of severe weather.

Event Highlights

This fourth edition will feature a delightful blend of activities suitable for all ages:

1. Market & Food Trucks

Local produce from Machida, including lettuce, peas, fava beans, wasabi greens, onions, and potatoes.
Food trucks offering freshly baked bread, coffee, and various delicacies.
Treats like cotton candy, baked sweet potatoes, and local bento boxes will also be available.
Craft booths selling handmade items, including lotus seed beanbags, African textiles, and indigo-dyed products.
Traditional festival games like super ball scooping, yo-yo fishing, and ring toss.

2. Nature Experience

Nature exploration activities within the park, showcasing local wildlife and interactive displays.
An opportunity to join “sawyer” workshops, where participants can learn to use saws safely.
Encounter friendly farm animals like sheep, with options for feeding and pony rides (fees apply).

3. Additional Activities

Join in for Mölkky (a Finnish throwing game) and park yoga classes to unwind and enjoy the fresh air.
Live performances by local singer Umake and African drum music by KenKen.
* Meet the park's mascot, the Tamakyouryuu, making a special appearance!
