BlueHalo Secures $30.7 Million Contract to Enhance U.S. Navy's Maritime Operations with Advanced Robotics

BlueHalo Awarded Major Contract for U.S. Navy

BlueHalo, a pioneering company in the field of defense technology, has made headlines recently with the announcement of a significant contract it has secured from the U.S. Navy. This contract, worth $30,735,784, is designated for the provision of systems engineering and support services related to the Mission Specialist Defender systems, which are part of the Maritime Expeditionary Standoff Response (MESR) program.

The fundamental objective of the MESR project involves improving the operational capabilities of the U.S. Navy through the utilization of advanced remotely operated vehicles (ROV). This five-year contract, issued by the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific, underscores the Navy's ongoing commitment to integrating cutting-edge technology into its operational framework. BlueHalo has positioned itself as a vital asset in this technological evolution.

Jonathan Moneymaker, CEO of BlueHalo, emphasized the significance of this contract, stating that it reflects the Navy's readiness to adapt and tailor commercial off-the-shelf defense solutions to meet the dynamic needs of its expeditionary forces. He remarked, "We are honored to continue our support in delivering cutting-edge, mission-critical ROVs that enhance maritime security, reconnaissance, and response capabilities for the fleet."

This recent contract closely follows a previous $92.6 million MESR contract awarded to VideoRay in May 2024, a strategic move that solidifies BlueHalo's role as a front runner in the application of underwater robotic technology in support of the U.S. Navy's missions, including expeditionary operations, mine countermeasures, and underwater security initiatives. Notably, VideoRay was acquired by BlueHalo last year, further integrating their innovative technology into BlueHalo's offerings.

The Mission Specialist Defender is celebrated for its robust capabilities in challenging operational environments. These unmanned underwater robots set a high-performance standard, essential for mission-critical applications like mine countermeasures. With features including exceptional maneuverability, payload integration, and operational flexibility, the Mission Specialist Defender is equipped to ensure mission success even in high-risk maritime areas.

In the broader context, BlueHalo is dedicated to advancing capabilities across a range of technologies, including Space, Counter-Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-UAS), Autonomous Systems, Electronic Warfare, Cyber, Unmanned Maritime operations, and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML). By focusing on the development and integration of next-generation technologies, BlueHalo aims to deliver substantial support for critical missions that bolster national security.
