Volkswagen Group France Partners with hlpy for Enhanced Digital Roadside Assistance Services

Volkswagen Group France Partners with hlpy

In an ambitious leap towards digitization, Volkswagen Group France has chosen hlpy, an innovative Italian scale-up, to manage its roadside assistance services. This strategic partnership aims to transform the traditional vehicle assistance paradigm, enhancing customer experience, especially for the millions of car users across France. The decision reflects Volkswagen's commitment to innovate and improve service delivery in one of the largest automotive markets in Europe.

Founded in 2020, hlpy has developed a fully digital platform that integrates vehicle assistance, repair, and maintenance services. With its advanced technologies, hlpy is set to redefine how roadside assistance is delivered, ensuring quick responses to customer needs. The launch of this collaboration comes at a pivotal moment, as vw plans to implement these services at the start of November 2025, following a successful operational testing phase in early October.

What This Partnership Entails

Under the new agreement, hlpy will offer a comprehensive suite of digitized roadside assistance services, including emergency support via its electronic 'B-call' feature. This ensures constant connectivity between drivers and hlpy's platform, optimizing dispatch and service delivery. With over 4 million vehicle users and substantial yearly new registrations across multiple brands, the French market presents a robust opportunity for hlpy's growth and expansion plans.

Stefano Sarti, co-founder, and Managing Director of Growth at hlpy emphasized, “We're implementing a technology platform that streamlines operations, providing an array of services from assistance to vehicle logistics. With Volkswagen Group France, we are poised to elevate service efficiency and create a new standard in customer experience.”

Volkswagen's commitment to improving roadside assistance is not only about enhancing customer loyalty but also about meeting the growing demands for efficient services. Thierry Suquet, Director of Customer Experience at Volkswagen Group France, highlighted the importance of quick service response, especially when customers find themselves stranded. “We need to ensure each driver can rely on prompt support to address their needs anytime,” Suquet noted, indicating confidence in hlpy's digital approach to service delivery.

Positive Market Projections

Over the next year, hlpy is projected to manage more than 500,000 roadside assistance requests throughout Europe, with France becoming its leading market. This collaboration is expected to significantly raise hlpy’s visibility and influence within the automotive industry, ranking the company as a vital player in the evolving mobility ecosystem.

Considering the anticipated revenue figures, hlpy aims to exceed €30 million from roadside assistance alone in France by 2026. This rapid growth trajectory reinforces hlpy's mission to be at the forefront of automotive assistance technologies and services.

Currently, hlpy's digital infrastructure allows it to collect and analyze real-time data, leveraging AI and machine learning to fine-tune its services. This enables faster, more accurate support for customers, from repairs and maintenance planning to travel continuity services, such as car rentals, taxis, or hotel bookings. As part of their overarching strategy, hlpy embodies a comprehensive customer-centric model, merging tech advancements with user-friendly functionalities.

The Future of Roadside Assistance

This partnership illustrates a significant shift in the automotive sector toward digitalization and customer-focused service provision. By effectively marrying traditional automotive services with cutting-edge technology, hlpy stands to reshape the landscape of roadside assistance in Europe.

Investors like Nextalia SGR, Alkemia SGR, and others have noticed this promising journey—hlpy’s founders, including Valerio Chiaronzi and Graziano Cavallo, bring over two decades of industry experience, making hlpy a notable disruptor in the market.

As the collaboration unfolds, stakeholders will keenly watch how Volkswagen Group France and hlpy adapt to the changing industry dynamics, aiming to set benchmarks for customer loyalty and service excellence in the automotive field.
