Yutong Launches Its First Comprehensive Service Center in Europe, Enhancing Electric Bus Support
On September 8, 2026, Yutong Bus made a significant leap in its operational capabilities by officially opening its first comprehensive service center in Europe, situated in Stokke, Norway. This facility represents a crucial landmark for the company as it enhances support for battery electric bus fleets in the region. The service center combines vehicle handovers, after-sales service, spare parts supplies, and professional training all under one roof.
A Comprehensive Approach to Electric Bus Maintenance
The service center, sprawling over approximately 38,941 square meters with a built-up area of 6,074 square meters, includes a dedicated 2,300 square meter spare parts warehouse. The center aims to bolster maintenance capacity as Norway transitions towards electric public transportation. This will enable local service providers to respond more swiftly to the needs of operators running purely electric buses, thus allowing for more direct service for customers.
Jack Li, CEO of Yutong for Central and Northern Europe, stated, "The service center is designed as a centralized hub with extensive spare parts inventories, dedicated inspection areas, professional service facilities, and specialized training equipment. Through efficient operations, we aim to help customers reduce total ownership costs and maximize fleet uptime. Our goal is to provide cost-effective services that contribute to greener, smarter, and more inclusive public transport."
Integrated Services for Fleet Operations
The center integrates essential services such as diagnostics, maintenance, and training into a holistic service system, enhancing efficiency and providing ongoing support to Norwegian public transport operators throughout the lifecycle of their vehicle fleets. The facility features specialized areas for maintenance and repair, a spare parts storage area, practical training spaces, vehicle display areas, and branding showcase zones. This integrated service package covers everything from vehicle sales and handover to after-sales repairs, spare parts supply, and technical training.
Equipped with seven standardized service bays, including specialized ones for drivetrain repair and major components, the center houses advanced equipment such as four-post lifts and electronic laser systems for wheel alignment. This enables comprehensive repairs on chassis, electrical systems, drive components, air conditioning, and interiors, including post-accident repairs and servicing of alcohol immobilizers and tachographs.
Adhering to EU Standards
The center also features a specialized inspection line for buses, complying with the mandatory annual Norwegian technical inspections (PKK). This includes a comprehensive testing area for brakes, lighting, and safety systems, ensuring vehicles meet essential regulatory standards.
By conducting technical inspections and diagnostics on-site, the center minimizes fleet downtime and helps lower operating costs for customers. The spare parts warehouse, which provides over 4,500 SKUs of original Yutong parts for battery systems, electric motors, electronic control systems, and more, streamlines the procurement process, thus enhancing vehicles' operational availability and reducing downtime due to repairs.
Commitment to Training and Support
The center also prioritizes building local expertise through training facilities equipped for both theoretical and practical instruction. Conducted by experienced trainers, the training programs utilize real vehicle components, ensuring technicians can apply their knowledge directly during repairs.
Through a combination of local service teams, standardized maintenance procedures, and training capabilities, Yutong's new center solidifies its global commitment to the "EnRoute+" service initiative. As the first comprehensive service facility established by Yutong in Europe, this endeavor underscores the company’s dedication to serving its European customers efficiently. Following this milestone, Yutong plans to expand its localized service approach in markets such as the Netherlands, Chile, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia, further enhancing local repair and maintenance capacities for electric buses, improving service responsiveness, and creating quality jobs while supporting the electrification and low-carbon transformation of public transport.
