iPEACE223 Secures 300 Million Yen in Pre-Series A2 Funding to Advance Zeolite Catalyst Technology

iPEACE223 Secures 300 Million Yen in Funding

iPEACE223, a company specializing in zeolite catalyst technology, has recently announced a significant funding achievement. The Tokyo-based firm has successfully secured approximately 300 million yen through its Pre-Series A2 funding round. This financing was made possible through the issuance of new stock acquisition rights to several major investors, including Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Zixis Corporation, and the UMI3 investment funds focusing on decarbonization.

The Mission of iPEACE223

The primary ambition of iPEACE223 is to establish a manufacturing process for green propylene from biomass feedstock using advanced zeolite catalysts suitable for ETP reactions. Instead of relying on fossil fuels, iPEACE223’s innovative approach aims to produce essential petrochemical raw materials like propylene and propane from bioethanol. This transition not only promises a lower carbon footprint but also significantly reduces CO2 emissions associated with traditional petrochemical production.

Development of Bench Plant

iPEACE223 is currently in the process of constructing a bench plant located within Tech Hub Innovation Kawasaki (commonly referred to as THINK). The plans are to initiate technology validation at this facility by 2025, paving the way for practical applications of their zeolite catalyst technology. The collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, known for its extensive experience in process plant design and construction, is expected to be beneficial in optimizing the project.

Additionally, the partnership with Zixis, a prominent player in the LP gas market, will explore avenues for bioethanol procurement and LP gas marketing, further enriching the potential of iPEACE223’s projects in the decarbonization sector.

Accelerating Bio-Propylene Production

The funds raised from the latest financing round will allow iPEACE223 to expedite efforts to make bio-propylene production technologies feasible. This aligns with the company’s goal to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society, as they work on processes that utilize sustainable resources rather than traditional carbon-heavy raw materials.
