Spring Cherry Blossom Festival in Pinghu Attracts Tourists from Everywhere
Cherry Blossom Festival in Pinghu, China
As spring unfolds, the cherry blossom festival in Zhongxi has kicked off, drawing tourists from various regions. This lively event takes place in Zhongxi Sakura Alley, located in Pinghu city within the scenic Zhejiang province in eastern China. Thousands of cherry trees are currently in full bloom, providing visitors with a breathtaking backdrop for a culturally enriching experience.
Visitors express their continual excitement for the event; one participant shared, "I come here every year to see the cherry blossoms, and I feel they bloom exceptionally well here."
The cherry blossom viewing season will continue until mid-April, inviting locals and internationals alike to immerse themselves in the stunning scenery. Besides the cherry blossoms, the picturesque area is adorned with a plethora of flowers, including tulips, February orchids, hydrangeas, and Muhlenbergia capillaris, ensuring a year-round horticultural allure.
To enhance the spring festivities, a fair featuring over 100 stalls has emerged, offering a culinary journey filled with delicacies, cultural products, and experiences promoting intangible cultural heritage focused on floral themes. A stall owner noted, "This time, we have introduced cherry blossom-themed baked goods, such as mung bean cookies and cakes. The items we brought in this morning sold out quickly, and more suppliers are on their way with fresh delights."
Last year, to promote the integration of culture and tourism, the Pinghu Economic Development Zone established the Lingyingge cultural and creative gallery, which celebrates its first anniversary this year. This gallery presents over 40 cultural and creative souvenirs alongside 100 industrial tourist products. It transforms local culture and traditions into tangible products and keepsakes for visitors to cherish and bring home.
In line with the celebration, a fashion creation center in the development area opened its doors over the weekend, revealing its cherry blossoms-themed down jackets, luggage, and child strollers to the public for the first time.
A grand ceremony to formally inaugurate the cherry blossom cultural tourism season took place on Sunday night. The event included a musical awards presentation and a spectacular light show featuring 700 drones, further showcasing the charm of Pinghu city.
"Through this cherry blossom cultural tourism season, we aspire to offer visitors more than just beautiful scenery; we want them to take home memorable experiences and products. Our goal is to transform visitation into sustainable engagement and convert the picturesque sights into a thriving cultural economy," stated Chen Zehao, deputy director of the Pinghu Economic Development Zone management committee.
Thus, as the cherry blossoms bloom, Pinghu embraces this vibrant season, inviting everyone to connect with nature and the rich cultural narratives it encapsulates.
