Exciting Return of the Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon Set for April 2026

Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon to Bring Excitement in April 2026

The highly anticipated Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon is making its glorious return to downtown Kalamazoo on the weekend of April 25-26, 2026. After an extended break, this event is set to welcome a massive crowd of runners, walkers, and ice cream enthusiasts alike, creating a fun-filled atmosphere that caters to all ages. As the date approaches, registration remains open, but interested participants should be aware that a price increase will take effect starting April 1, 2026.

The marathon promises to not only be a race but a community event that encapsulates the spirit of Kalamazoo. The weekend kicks off with the Beacon Health Expo on Saturday, where Bronson Park transforms into a hub of activity. Running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., this expo will feature numerous local businesses and health vendors that provide plenty of entertainment for families. Guests can look forward to delicious food from Trak Houz Bar & Grill, live music performances, and a happy hour from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. sponsored by Imperial Brewery. Moreover, Gazelle Sports and Brooks will host an exciting shopping opportunity at their vendor booth throughout the day.

For participants, packet pick-up will occur on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Bronson Park. However, the registration for the PNC Kids' 1K will only be open from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., with the race kicking off at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

The Sunday agenda is packed with a full slate of races designed to accommodate participants of varying ages and abilities. Participants can choose from a range of events, including the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K Run/Walk, and various relays for both the full and half marathons. Additionally, this year marks the return of the Half and Half and Mitten Challenge partnerships with the Wisconsin Marathon.

Participants can expect not only finisher medals and merchandise, but all marathon finishers will receive a stylish lightweight jacket, while everyone else taking part on Sunday will walk away with a commemorative race shirt. Notably, the Half Marathon and 5K have also received official designation as RRCA Championship Events, adding to their appeal.

Reflecting the essence of community spirit, a heartfelt thank you is extended to the event's sponsors, including Parker Aerospace, PlazaCorp, Greenleaf Hospitality Group, and College Hunks, who contribute significantly to the event's success. Historically known as the Borgess Run for the Health of It!, the Zeigler Kalamazoo Marathon was renamed in 2022 after Zeigler Auto Group took on the title sponsorship. As of 2025, all race activities have moved to Bronson Park, with the routes taking runners through the vibrant streets and picturesque parks of downtown Kalamazoo, including Western Michigan University's famous Waldo Stadium. Participants will also enjoy a tour through the Winchell Neighborhood, scenic Portage Creek Bicentennial Park Trail, and various other local neighborhoods.

Adding flair to the event, the marathon is famous for its lively excitement zones and hydration stations, featuring unique themes such as Gummy Bear Forest for the 5K and 10K, and the popular Bacon Station for Half and Full Marathon runners. No runner or spectator experience would be complete without the Finish Line Celebration held by Stryker at Bronson Park in Downtown Kalamazoo.
