Experience the Colorful Transformation of Meguro River This Autumn with OriHime Robot

A Vibrant Autumn Celebration at Meguro River

The picturesque Meguro River is set to undergo a stunning transformation this autumn with the introduction of the "Meguro River Autumn Promenade," an initiative organized by the Ohsaki Area Management Association. This event aims to promote the city's branding goal of creating a diverse and inclusive community in Shinagawa Ward, known as the "Shiawase Tasai-ku" (Happy Colorful Ward).

Starting from November 12 to November 30, 2025, the riverbanks will be festooned with colorful ribbons, symbolizing the rich tapestry of life and diversity within the community. This artwork will not only beautify the area but also reflect the concept that irrespective of age, nationality, gender, or abilities, everyone can coexist harmoniously.

Embracing Diversity through Ribbons

The vibrant ribbons will serve as a visual representation of the respect and admiration shared among various residents, including students from local schools, welfare facilities, and businesses. This initiative seeks to communicate the inclusive values of the Shinagawa community vividly and appealingly, fostering a spirit of coexistence.

Innovative Experience with OriHime Robots

To ensure that everyone, including those facing mobility challenges, can partake in this enriching experience, the event will feature remote-guided tours using the OriHime robots. This special initiative allows individuals unable to visit the site physically to explore the beauty of Meguro River through real-time guidance via these innovative robots.

Guided Tours with OriHime

  • - Guided Walking Tours: November 15, 16, 22, and 23, 2025, featuring a 30-minute tour on each day.
  • - Route: Starting from CAFE & HALL ours, moving through Onaribashi and Yamamoto-bashi, concluding at Gotanda River Waterfront Square and Onaribashi Park.

On November 20, students from Seisen University will also offer guided walking and boat commuting tours at the river, further promoting the community's charm.

Exploring Through Boat Commuting

In line with Tokyo's initiative to encourage waterway commuting, the autumn promenade will also showcase boat commuting options along the river, giving participants a chance to cherish the scenic views while avoiding the congestion typical of trains and buses.

E-Boat Experience

In addition to the guided tours, an E-boat (hand-rowed boat) experience will allow participants to enjoy the ribbon decorations up close from the water. Scheduled for November 16, 2025, the E-boat trips will run from Gotanda River Station to Higashi Shinagawa Seaside Park.
