One of the report's most alarming findings indicates that when endpoints fail, organizations face an average revenue loss of approximately $190 million per hour (or about 30 billion yen). While 88% of CISOs believe that autonomous recovery features can significantly mitigate the costs associated with downtime, only 4% of respondents rated their organizations as having broadly adopted autonomous solutions. Barriers to Full Autonomy


When it comes to deploying autonomous solutions, a major barrier identified was the issue of trust, cited by 38% of respondents. This challenge surpassed other concerns such as integration complexity (33%) and budget constraints (18%). Such findings suggest that for organizations to fully embrace autonomous recovery solutions, they must first build a solid foundation of trust in these technologies.

Reluctance Towards Advanced AI Tools


Interestingly, there remains a strong wariness towards cutting-edge AI tools like Anthropic Mythos. In the survey, 43% of leaders regarded the potential risks of utilizing these tools as too high. Furthermore, 41% believe that their use should be banned until their workings become clearer, reflecting a cautious approach to integrating advanced technologies into security protocols.

Wyatt reiterated the critical need for organizations to minimize downtime through effective recovery speed, stating, “Trust in autonomous solutions continues to stand as a significant barrier. This survey illuminates the risks security leaders face, and I hope it serves as a touchstone for making informed decisions towards adopting autonomous recovery.”
