Sungrow's Logger1000 Achieves EU Cybersecurity Certification
Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd., a leader in PV solutions and energy storage, has made significant strides in cybersecurity with its monitoring device, the Logger1000. This device is now recognized as one of the first in the photovoltaic (PV) industry to obtain the EU cybersecurity certification EN 18031. This prestigious certification attests to Logger1000's robust capabilities in preventing data breaches and cyber-attacks, reinforcing Sungrow's commitment to advancing cybersecurity standards in PV systems.
The EN 18031 standard, which falls under the EU Renewable Energy Directive (RED), is acknowledged globally as one of the most stringent cybersecurity benchmarks. It mandates comprehensive safeguards against data breaches, privacy violations, and fraud. From August 1, 2025, all wireless devices entering the EU market must comply with these standards, positioning Sungrow at the forefront of regulatory adherence in the sector.
TÜV SÜD, a globally recognized certification body, conducted extensive evaluations of Logger1000 across 14 security domains, where it excelled in aspects such as access control, authentication, secure storage, and protected communication. This outstanding performance underscores the advanced capabilities of Logger1000 in safeguarding cybersecurity and protecting personal data.
A critical factor contributing to this successful certification is Logger1000's comprehensive security architecture, which encompasses both physical components and cloud platforms. Throughout the design, development, and integration phases, Logger1000 adhered strictly to cybersecurity standards. It incorporates advanced security technologies, including role-based access control, digital certificates, digital signatures, encrypted data storage, and secure transmission protocols. These measures ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data during storage, retrieval, and transmission.
In addition to its cybersecurity features, Logger1000 offers several other benefits. It supports numerous communication protocols, allowing seamless integration with other PV devices such as meters, environmental monitoring equipment, sensors, and third-party devices. The Logger1000 is compatible with both iSolarCloud and third-party OM systems, enabling smarter and more efficient management of PV installations.
Sungrow is committed to developing next-generation protective measures that will integrate new technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, IoT, AI, and big data analytics. As cyber threats evolve, Sungrow remains dedicated to providing globally compliant, future-ready cybersecurity solutions, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of PV systems around the world.
