In a remarkable initiative combining art and the festive spirit, the Tokyo Christmas Advent is currently taking place at Ueno Park, running until December 25th. This renowned event has previously attracted over 12 million visitors in Fukuoka and marks its inaugural Tokyo edition, promising a sensational holiday experience for locals and tourists alike.

At the heart of this festive gathering is the brilliant artist Kazuki Torigoe, known for his energetic and emotional artworks. He has crafted a spectacular 90-meter-long mural that adorns the walls of 13 wooden huts (or 'Hüttes') at the venue. Each hut features an individual piece of artwork, while collectively they create a breathtaking narrative that invites visitors to engage with art naturally amidst the holiday atmosphere. The artwork transitions beautifully from day to night, revealing different dimensions depending on the time and crowd levels, thus enriching the viewers’ experience.

Kazuki Torigoe’s style is characterized by a vigorous brushstroke and his signature technique known as “beyond stroke.” His artworks are not only visually stunning but also provoke deep emotional responses from the viewers, enveloping them in a vibrant energy that resonates within the space. Torigoe's works embody the avant-garde spirit of the Kyushu school of art, which celebrates individuality and innovation.

This year's theme revolves around the joy of Christmas, as Torigoe himself stated, “The celebration is here for everyone on December 25! Gifts will be delivered to creatures of the sea, forests, and even distant dinosaurs!” His work is designed to evoke warmth and joy, bringing together various cultural symbols and holiday cheer.
