IWATA to Collect Old Down Comforters at Circulation Fest 2025 in Kyoto

IWATA's Commitment to a Circular Economy

This year, IWATA, a Kyoto-based bedding manufacturer, is excited to announce their participation in the upcoming Circulation Fest taking place on April 20, 2025, at the scenic Umekoji Park in Kyoto. As part of the fest, IWATA will be offering a free collection service for old down comforters, encouraging sustainable practices among attendees.

Details of the Collection Service

IWATA will only collect down comforters that have a down ratio of 50% or higher. Participants can bring multiple items for collection. In return for their old comforters, IWATA will provide each individual with a ¥1,000 gift certificate valid at their direct retail stores—a benefit limited to one per person.

This initiative is part of the RENMEN Project, a key effort by IWATA to promote a circular economy by rethinking consumption patterns. The project reflects a dedication to bridging the seasonal transitions of Japan with sustainable practices, ensuring that beautiful, natural traditions are passed to future generations.

IWATA’s Environmental Efforts Recognition

IWATA’s commitment to sustainability has not gone unnoticed, receiving several accolades including the Kyoto City Environmental Award Special Prize and recognition for excellence in environmental conservation from both Kyoto City and Kyoto Prefecture. This recognition highlights IWATA's leadership in pursuing eco-friendly practices and contributing to carbon neutrality initiatives.
