Gateway Harley-Davidson, which has been serving motorcycle enthusiasts since 1948, was founded by Earl Widman, a commendable World War II D-Day veteran and an inductee into the American Motorcycle Association Hall of Fame. Originally known as Broadway Harley-Davidson, the dealership built a solid reputation over the decades, attracting fans of the iconic brand. In 2002, a relocation placed it strategically near historic Route 66, allowing it to be visible from the famed Gateway Arch, a symbol synonymous with St. Louis.
In the past several years, Matt Chiappetta, who held ownership from 2016 until this recent sale, successfully managed the dealership while simultaneously operating his other venture, Open Road Harley-Davidson in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Performance Brokerage Services takes pride in being the highest volume dealership brokerage firm in North America, with nearly 400 dealerships sold in just five years.
