The plants in Egypt and Italy celebrated nearly 1,500 days without any recordable incidents, while facilities in Spain and Patalganga, India, surpassed 2,000 days free of recordable incidents, underscoring the company's commitment to operational safety.

Global Expansion


The report also outlines Birla Carbon's strategic expansions, including the commissioning of the Asia Post Treatment plant in Patalganga, India, which came online in October 2024 and produces high-performance specialty grades for various industries. Additionally, expansions are underway in Hungary, alongside greenfield projects in India and Thailand, aimed at bolstering the company's ability to meet both regional and international market demands.

In terms of environmental responsibility, Birla Carbon has achieved notable milestones, such as utilizing recycled process water and/or harvested rainwater at all manufacturing sites. Furthermore, the company reduced its CO₂ equivalent emissions associated with shipping by 11% in Q4 FY2025 compared to the corresponding quarter in the previous year.

The company received the prestigious Environment+Energy Leader Award for its innovative seawater scrubbing project at Franklin, Louisiana, which has effectively reduced sulfur oxides (SOx) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) emissions by over 90%. Moreover, Birla Carbon was awarded 13 Gold Safety Certificates from the International Carbon Black Association (ICBA), marking the organization's excellence in safety.

Birla Carbon’s 16 carbon black manufacturing plants are all ISCC Plus certified, demonstrating their commitment to high sustainability standards. Each of these facilities also meets the IATF 16949 certification requirements for automotive quality management, combining product excellence with sustainable practices.
