On April 11, 2026, Tokyo's prestigious Garden Hotel will host a unique culinary event at its renowned Japanese restaurant, Yukuri. Entitled "A Gourmet Journey Through the Seasons of the Garden," this one-night-only experience promises to engage all five senses through a rich selection of seasonal dishes inspired by the diverse culture and food of Japan.

This is the second event in a special series that celebrates the unique flavors and traditions of different regions in Japan, with a focus this time on Miyagi Prefecture. Guests can expect a sumptuous kaiseki meal featuring carefully selected spring ingredients from the mountains and seas of Miyagi, complemented by exquisite sake from the acclaimed Niizawa Brewery. Aiming to showcase the essence of seasonal cuisine, this dining event invites you to indulge in a luxurious and heartwarming atmosphere among the blossoming trees in the hotel’s garden.

Culinary Menu Highlights


Yukuri's head chef, Makoto Tsurumaki, articulates the rich bounty of Miyagi's springs, blending traditional local dishes into a refined tasting experience that harmonizes with the unique qualities of Niizawa's famed sake, known for its crisp finish and lingering aftertaste.

Meal Sequence:


1. Welcome Dish: Miyagi Hospitality - House-made gan (wild goose) with honey and Yukuri’s special sweet sake.
2. Appetizers: Includes Mackerel with ham and new onion jelly, Zunda (sweet edamame) matsukaze, and deep-fried shark fin with yuba (tofu skin).
3. Soup: Hattō (Miyagi-style dumpling) with clam broth.
4. Sashimi: Sea cucumber and yam mix, along with fresh fatty tuna and marinated seared fish served with Sasakama fish cake.
5. Grilled Dish: Cherry blossom salmon grilled to perfection.
6. Simmered Dish: Tender Sendai beef stew with spring vegetables and mountain pepper.
7. Rice Dish: White fried noodles from Shiraishi.
8. Dessert: Blueberry yokan (jelly) with chocolate and sakura-flavored pie accompanied by strawberries.
