Construction of Zeus OSA1 Data Center in Osaka Set to Start in December 2025

New Horizons in Data Management: The Zeus OSA1 Project

In a significant move for the data center industry, Tokyo Tatemono Inc. and SC Zeus Data Centers have unveiled plans to commence construction of the Zeus OSA1 high-scale data center in Osaka. Slated to start in December 2025, this project represents the first venture of its kind for Tokyo Tatemono in the domain of data center development in Japan.

Project Overview

The Zeus OSA1 data center, located in the Suminoe Ward of Osaka City, will not only feature state-of-the-art facilities but also a wealth of expertise from both Tokyo Tatemono and SC Zeus. Utilizing advanced technology and innovative engineering practices, this facility aims to provide high-performance services tailored for cloud service providers and enterprises. The center is expected to commence operations in its initial phase by 2028, with a target IT load capacity of 25MW.

Key Features

1. Strategic Location for Low-Latency Connectivity: Situated about 10km from the main internet exchange in downtown Osaka, Zeus OSA1 is designed to facilitate low-latency connections crucial for high-speed financial transactions and real-time AI processing.

2. High-Efficiency Cooling Solutions: To support high electrical load demands that arise from advancing AI workloads, the center will employ liquid cooling technology. This approach allows for a maximum power density of 130kW per rack, promising peak operational efficiency for all data center activities while achieving an enviable PUE rating of 1.19.

3. Innovative Construction and Project Management: The use of prefabrication techniques in the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) sectors is set to expedite project timelines while ensuring high-quality standards amidst a shortage of specialized labor in Japan. This strategic approach aims to marry speed with excellence in construction practices.

Project Specifications

  • - Location: 1-14, Nanko Kita, Suminoe Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture
  • - Site Area: 13,956㎡
  • - Total Floor Area: 19,016㎡
  • - Structure: 7 floors, earthquake-resistant design
  • - Estimated Construction Start: December 2025
