The Ota Tourism Association in Tokyo has announced the exciting return of its popular tour, "Exploring Seven Islands of Ota, Tokyo", now scheduled for September 18 and October 2, 2026. For the fourth installment of this much-anticipated event, the tour has evolved from a single-day itinerary into a two-day experience, aimed at enabling participants to delve deeper into the captivating features of Ota's waterfront regions.

Tour Highlights



Part 1: September 18, 2026
This part of the journey includes a visit to Reiwa Island, a location not accessible by public transport. With the support of Tokyo Port Terminal Corporation, participants will gain access to a special facility that offers a sweeping view of the Tokyo Port Container Terminal, providing insights into one of Japan's key logistics hubs.

Visitors will also glide through Tokyo Bay on a private cruise ship, Marco Polo, allowing for a unique vantage point from the water. The boat ride covers the seven artificial islands and showcases stunning views of aircraft arriving and departing from Haneda Airport, as well as the busy waterways frequented by large vessels.

  • - Morning Itinerary:
- Gather at JR Omori Station East Exit.
- Explore Jonan Island (ART FACTORY Jonan Island) to admire artists' studios.
- Visit Reiwa Island for a glimpse of logistical operations at the Tokyo Port Container Terminal.
- Enjoy lunch at Omori Seaweed Heritage Center, where the dedication to locally sourced seaweed is shared.
- Embark on the special cruise to enjoy the sea views of the seven islands.

Part 2: October 2, 2026
This segment emphasizes the infrastructure that supports Tokyo, including insight into the Ota Market, Haneda Innovation City, and the Tokyo Monorail Vehicle Base. Participants can expect a curriculum that engages diverse perspectives on logistics, airports, art, transportation, and environmental issues.

  • - Morning Itinerary:
- Gather at JR Omori Station East Exit.
- Visit Ota Market for insights into local seafood commerce.
- Lunch at Haneda Innovation City (HANEDA SKY BREWING), including a guided visit to Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KAWARUBA).
- Ride the Tokyo Monorail to the Showa Island Vehicle Base, where participants can witness maintenance operations and experience an exclusive washing session for the rail vehicles.
- End the tour at the Ota Cleansing Plant, learning about waste management processes rarely open to the public.

Tour Schedule:
  • - Part 1: September 18, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 4:10 PM
  • - Part 2: October 2, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Cost (including lunch):
  • - Part 1: ¥20,000 per person
  • - Part 2: ¥14,000 per person

Capacity:
Each part accommodates 20 participants, selected by lottery if demand exceeds capacity.

Interested attendees may apply through the designated lottery registration form or via postcard, submitting the following details:
1. Desired tour date (9/18, 10/2, or both)
2. Representative's name (with furigana), address, phone number, age, and gender
3. Companion's name (with furigana), address, age, and gender (1 companion only; maximum 2 participants total).
