Next.js for Beginners. This course includes four sessions focused on teaching individuals, especially front-end developers and back-end engineers interested in front-end technologies, the essentials of Next.js.

React.js library, is rising globally. As many developers seek efficient methods to create high-performance web applications, mastering this skill has become crucial. This course will provide an in-depth understanding of Next.js, covering everything from the basics to advanced techniques.
Instructor
The course will be conducted by Kazuma Sekiguchi, the Chief Technology Officer at Comcent Co., Ltd., a company specializing in web development. With extensive experience in website design, programming, and system development, Kazuma will guide participants through the course using a hands-on approach.

Session 1: Introduction to React and Getting Started with Next.js

Topics: Overview of Next.js, differences from React, project creation, basics of JSX, component creation, routing, form fundamentals, and data management with useState.

Session 2: Experiencing What Makes Next.js Unique
Date: November 11, 2025
Topics: CSS Modules or Tailwind for styling, layout introduction, routing expansion, dynamic routing, and useClient utilization.
3.
Session 3: Understanding SSR and Data Fetching
Date: November 18, 2025
Topics: What is SSR? Mechanism behind server-side rendering, fetching data with server components, obtaining data from external APIs, and experiencing cache and revalidation.
4.
Session 4: Client-side Data Fetching and Course Summary
Date: November 25, 2025
Topics: Client-side data fetching (SWR), combining SSR and SWR, organizing rendering strategies, and understanding the differences and applications of SSR, SSG, and SWR.
Requirements for Participants
To participate successfully, applicants should have:
- - A working understanding of React (equivalent to a beginner’s course).
- - Proficiency in JavaScript.
- - Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is required.
- - Participants are recommended to have the latest Visual Studio Code with necessary extensions, the latest LTS version of Node.js, and Google Chrome installed on their devices (Windows 10 or higher, macOS version 11 or higher).
- - An internet connection at home is essential.
Please note that there will be no archiving of the sessions, so live attendance is mandatory. Additionally, the course will not cover deployments and will focus on standard JavaScript rather than TypeScript.
