Haier Unveils Innovative AI-Driven Smart Home Ecosystem at IFA 2026

Haier, a global leader in large home appliances for the past 17 years, made a significant impact at IFA 2026 in Berlin by presenting its new ecosystem of smart home technologies powered by artificial intelligence. The theme of this year's exhibition, "Home of Smart Choices," showcases how interconnected appliances can transform everyday living through the understanding of user habits, adaptive responses, and context-aware functionalities.

Transforming Daily Life with AI

Haier’s new technology portfolio integrates AI into various home functions, aiming to create a seamless living experience. For instance, the Vision 15 washing machine utilizes a combination of an internal camera, sensors, and algorithms to assess the load of laundry, balance, and detergent levels. It then adjusts water usage, detergent dispensing, drum movement, and cycle settings accordingly. This level of customization extends to food preservation through the Maestro prototype; its AI Food Care System 2.0 detects stored ingredients and recommends optimal conditions for maintaining freshness.

The cooking experience is enhanced as well, exemplified by the ID Ultimate Series 6 oven, which recognizes food items through an internal camera, monitoring the cooking process and halting operations once the desired outcome is achieved. In the living room, Haier's UltraSense AI technology tailors the audio-visual experience by intelligently adjusting both picture and sound based on content and environmental conditions, thereby promoting a more enjoyable home experience.

Moreover, the hOn app centralizes Haier's connected products, services, and experiences in a single digital ecosystem. This integrated technology approach is already evident in numerous households. According to a report by Euromonitor International, Haier was designated the global leader in smart home technologies in 2025, with their smart home platform surpassing 130 million registered users worldwide and recording 86.1 billion interactions with smart scenarios for that year.

Bringing AI into Physical Reality

Haier showcased how AI and embodied intelligence can convert the digital capabilities of smart homes into physical actions. Attendees at IFA 2026 had the opportunity to interact with humanoid robots designed to work alongside appliances, robotic cleaning systems that identify objects and various types of dirt, and robotic companions developed for voice assistance and personalized support.

Not stopping at home applications, Haier also introduced its Exoskeleton, which employs sensors and algorithms to interpret user movement intentions in real-time, facilitating mobility while preserving natural motion. This exhibition underscores Haier’s commitment to blending AI, appliances, and robotics in ways that genuinely address human needs.

This ambitious vision is built on Haier’s open innovation system, dubbed "10+N," which connects global research resources with local user insights. In the first half of 2026, Haier ranked first again for the 15th consecutive time in global appliance invention patents according to IPRdaily. With plans to invest at least €13 billion in the next five years, Haier aims to advance core technologies including AI, semiconductors, and IoT security, thereby reinforcing its AI-led transformation.

The company’s presence at IFA also highlights its global sports partnerships promoting the concept "Play with the Units," a reflection of excellence in sports intertwined with a focus on innovation and performance.
