Nth Cycle Appoints Dr. Gabi Knesel as CTO



In a significant move aimed at strengthening its leadership team, Nth Cycle has announced the appointment of Gabi Perlingeiro Knesel, Ph.D., as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) as of April 30, 2025. This appointment comes during a time of rapid growth for the company, which is pioneering advancements in the area of critical metals refining.

Dr. Knesel, who offers over 15 years of expertise in mining operations and innovative hydrometallurgical processes, is set to oversee the engineering and technology development at Nth Cycle. Her role will include executing the company's strategic roadmap for expanding operations in new metals markets, as well as managing the testing facility located at the Burlington headquarters. Adding to her responsibilities, she will also collaborate closely with Nth Cycle's business and corporate development teams to ensure seamless project execution and deployment.

Megan O'Connor, Ph.D., the co-founder and CEO of Nth Cycle, expressed enthusiasm regarding Dr. Knesel’s addition to the team. Before her tenure at Nth Cycle, Dr. Knesel served as Senior Vice President at Locus Fermentation Solutions, where she spearheaded the creation and management of the Mining and Metals business unit. Her extensive industry experience includes providing operational insights to leading global producers in the copper, nickel, and zinc sectors. Additionally, she co-led the development of biosurfactant-based solutions, showcasing her dedication to sustainable and innovative practices in metals extraction.
