Wheels Up Reports Third Quarter Results Amid Business Transformation Highlights

Wheels Up Experience Inc. has recently announced its financial results for the third quarter of 2026, reflecting a pivotal moment in the company's ongoing business transformation. With a significant shift in operational strategies, the company has seen Signature fleets become the primary source of private jet flight revenue, marking a notable transition towards premium offerings.

During the quarter, Wheels Up reported GAAP revenue of $164.8 million, which is an 11% decrease compared to the same quarter last year. This decline in revenue is partly driven by the divestment of non-core service businesses last year. Private jet flight revenue specifically was recorded at $143.9 million, down 7%, despite a robust 120% increase in revenue from the premium Phenom and Challenger fleet categories. Notably, this transition has been characterized by the expansion of the premium fleet from 24 to 43 aircraft, which alone contributed to the increased revenue despite the legacy fleet experiencing a significant revenue decrease of 44%.

On the operational front, the Total Gross Bookings saw a 15% drop year-over-year, now standing at $225.4 million. This decline is primarily attributed to reduced volumes in group charter and cargo services. Despite these figures, gross profit for the quarter did witness an impressive increase, rising to $15.2 million—a significant improvement of $16 million from the previous year. The net loss amounting to $89.4 million, or $(2.48) per share, indicates a slight increase in losses compared to the previous year.

This quarter is particularly significant as it marks a turning point for Wheels Up, according to George Mattson, CEO of Wheels Up. He remarked on the major growth metrics that have been achieved since the company initiated new strategic measures. The performance metrics, including the completion rate of 99.3% and an on-time performance of 86.4%, showcase the operational excellence that Wheels Up aims to maintain.

Investment in the premium fleet continues to be a priority for Wheels Up, with the company announcing a landmark order of six new Embraer Phenom 300E aircraft, expected to bolster its fleet capacity by 2027. This move aligns with the anticipated demand from its growing customer base and members. In further supporting its operations, Wheels Up announced an additional $100 million credit facility secured through an extended partnership with Delta Air Lines, reaffirming the commitment between the two companies in fostering long-term profitable growth.

Wheels Up has also made strides in enhancing its brand identity, aiming to reflect the progress made during its business transformation journey. The recent launch of "The Right Way to Fly" campaign emphasizes the company's commitment to operational reliability and premium customer experience, which aligns with the expectations of its clientele.

Looking ahead, Wheels Up aims to phase out its legacy membership programs completely while continuing to focus on scaling the Wheels Up Signature Membership. This includes broadening its high-quality revenue streams and improving productivity across its operations.

The company's dedicated efforts towards sustainability have led to the development of an enhanced Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) program, intended to effectively tackle aviation emissions while providing a seamless experience for its customers. This initiative, built in collaboration with Delta, is seen as a forward-thinking solution within the industry.

Overall, while the current financial results might indicate challenges, Wheels Up remains optimistic about its strategic direction, bolstered by its innovative fleet modernization and unwavering commitment to customer experience.
