FANCL Hosts Kids Skincare Workshop at Yokohama Chinese School

FANCL Hosts Skin Care Workshop for Kids

In early July 2026, FANCL held an engaging and informative kids' skincare workshop at Yokohama Chinese School. This event was designed for fifth and sixth graders, coinciding with an increase in skin problems during the summer due to UV exposure and sweating. The workshop, which hosted 85 enthusiastic students, emphasized the importance of skincare and aimed to prevent future skin troubles.

FANCL has been actively conducting educational sessions, known as the FANCL SDGs Workshops, focusing on sustainable development goals since 2021. To date, nearly 29,000 students have participated in over 227 sessions. The recent workshop on healthy skin was an extension of their ongoing commitment.

In recent years, environmental issues such as climate change and air pollution have created a challenging era for skin health, especially for children. Their skin tends to be more susceptible to dryness and external irritants, making them vulnerable to skin troubles. This workshop was an opportunity for students to learn about the skin's role and adopt correct skincare practices to nurture healthy skin as they grow.

The session began with an introduction to FANCL, followed by an explanation about the relationship between climate change, air pollution, and skin health. Students engaged actively in a quiz about the characteristics of their skin and the structure of the epidermis, enhancing their understanding in a fun way.

Then the practical session commenced, where students utilized FANCL’s Clear Up series, specifically designed for younger users. The participants first measured their skin’s moisture levels, which set the stage for the hands-on part of the workshop. Eight representatives from the group demonstrated the correct way to wash their face using the medicated Clear Up Foaming Cleanser. The other children watched intently, intrigued by the demonstration.

Students not participating in the demonstration used the Fresh Clear Wipes, infused with skincare ingredients, to gently blot away sweat and oil. They followed up with the Clear Up Gel Milk to experience moisturizing firsthand. Once again, they measured the moisture levels of their skin, revealing a significant increase after skincare, cheering and excitement filled the room as the results were announced!

Feedback from attendees highlighted the workshop's impact; 98.8% of participants acknowledged the importance of skincare, while 97.6% reported having fun during the session. Comments included reflections such as, “Learning the right way to wash my face made me want to do it every day,” and, “If I take care of my skin from a young age, I believe I can stay beautiful as I grow older.” A teacher from the school remarked on the enthusiasm of the students, noting that both boys and girls engaged actively, making the workshop highly beneficial.

FANCL is dedicated to providing enjoyable learning opportunities about sustainable development and skincare habits for children, helping them build a foundation for maintaining healthy skin in the future. The company looks forward to continuing these initiatives, encouraging young participants to prioritize their skincare as they navigate their daily lives.
