Catholic University and eCampus.com Join Forces to Transform Campus Retail Experience

In a significant step towards enhancing the retail experience for its campus community, The Catholic University of America has announced an expansion of its collaboration with eCampus.com, a leading online retailer of textbooks and digital course materials. This strategic partnership aims to not only bolster the university's online bookstore but also integrate it with physical retail operations at the university's Cardinal Shop, creating a more seamless and connected experience for students, faculty, staff, and everyone associated with the institution.

The partnership builds upon the successful launch of the university's online bookstore in 2024, which was designed to streamline access to essential course materials. With a centralized platform provided by eCampus.com, students can effortlessly locate and order the required texts linked to their enrolled courses thanks to the Single Sign-On (SSO) feature that integrates directly with university systems. This service has significantly simplified the ordering process, ensuring that students have timely access to course materials, a crucial aspect of academic success.

In the upcoming phase of this collaboration, eCampus.com will take over management of the physical retail operations at The Cardinal Shop. This transition is expected to bring together online and in-person services under a unified model that enhances customer convenience and fosters school spirit. The revamped retail experience will not only showcase a wider selection of Catholic University-branded apparel and accessories but will also include everyday merchandise that reflects university pride. The intention is to ensure that members of the campus community have access to well-designed products that meet their needs and interests.

Tim Carney, Associate Vice President of Campus Services at Catholic University, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded partnership, noting, "eCampus has provided excellent service to our campus through their online course materials program. Now we look to capitalize on that service and expand it into our retail space." The Cardinal Shop will also serve as a centralized hub for course material support services, including a convenient online order pickup system as well as events dedicated to textbook buybacks and rental returns.

By merging academic resources with retail services into one cohesive environment, the university believes that it can create a more accessible and convenient experience for the entire campus community.
