End-of-Life Planning Seminar for Singles

The NPO Tokyo Senior Support Center will host a free seminar titled "End-of-Life Planning for Singles" on October 6, 2025, at Bunkyo Civic Hall. This event aims to assist individuals in designing their final chapter in life according to their personal values, especially for those who are single and may face unique challenges regarding inheritance, dementia care, and funeral arrangements.

Understanding the Importance of End-of-Life Planning

Many individuals may hesitate when they hear the term "end-of-life planning," feeling it's a topic for a later time. However, the reality is that planning for life's conclusion is essential for everyone, not just singles. The seminar provides a platform for participants to address their uncertainties and receive actionable advice on planning for their future.

The seminar is divided into two main sections, each featuring expert speakers from relevant fields:

Part One: Assurance Workshop for Singles

In the first segment, the Executive Director, Mr. Onishi, will shed light on various end-of-life planning themes, sharing case studies to illustrate effective strategies and considerations for individuals approaching this critical stage of their lives.

Part Two: Lesser-Known Facts About Funerals

The second session will feature Mr. Kimura Mitsuki, a funeral expert and the president of the End-of-Life Counseling Association. He will discuss essential knowledge regarding funeral preparations, breaking down costs, and what individuals should be aware of in terms of planning for this inevitable part of life.

Mr. Kimura, who has been featured on NHK's "Professional," represents Japan's only funeral service specializing in peaceful farewells. His experience as a mortician provides invaluable insights into creating serene and respectful final moments.

Individual Consultation Opportunities
