Visa Partners with Street Soccer USA and Bank of America to Expand Street Soccer Parks Ahead of FIFA World Cup 2026
Visa, Street Soccer USA, and Bank of America Bring Soccer Parks to FIFA World Cup 2026 Host Cities
As the excitement builds towards the FIFA World Cup 2026™, Visa, in collaboration with Street Soccer USA and Bank of America, is set to make a significant impact in local communities. Announced on March 28, 2026, this initiative aims to introduce Visa Street Soccer Parks in each host city across the United States, delivering a unique blend of sports, education, and community engagement.
A Vision for Community Development
Visa, the official payment technology partner of the FIFA World Cup 2026™, is dedicated to leveraging its influence to foster community development. The Visa Street Soccer Parks are designed to transform underutilized spaces into vibrant hubs for activity, learning, and connection. With the tournament drawing near, these parks will serve as valuable resources for the 11 host cities, including Boston, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, and Tacoma.
“Transforming local neighborhoods with these soccer parks reflects Visa’s commitment to harnessing the unifying power of sports,” stated Kim Lawrence, Visa’s North America Regional President. “As we gear up for the tournament, it’s essential to create a lasting legacy in the communities that will welcome fans and families from all over the world.”
Features of the Parks
Each Visa Street Soccer Park is thoughtfully crafted to cater to the specific needs of the local community. These parks will feature two professional-level soccer fields, provided by Bank of America, extensive lighting for prolonged use, learning centers, and flexible meeting spaces. The programming will be shaped in partnership with local organizations, ensuring it aligns with the unique needs of the community. Activities will encompass recreational play, academic enrichment, workforce readiness, and broader community involvement.
David Tyrie, who holds the title of President of Marketing and Specialized Digital Solutions for Bank of America, emphasized the vital role these parks will play. “These community centers become more than just places to play; they are essential spaces where individuals from all walks of life come together through soccer, develop key life skills, and forge enduring connections that strengthen community bonds.”
Expanding Nationwide
Since the inaugural park opened in San Francisco last year, this initiative has already seen the establishment of additional locations in Denver, Kansas City, and New York. These parks currently host youth and adult leagues, provide extracurricular academic support, financial education sessions, and job training programs in collaboration with local organizations. Moreover, parks are being developed in Nashville and Atlanta, with opening dates to be confirmed once planning is finalized.
“This is about building something meaningful and lasting,” remarked Lawrence Cann, co-founder and president of Street Soccer USA. “These parks are created to ensure accessibility and are owned by the communities that they serve. With strong community leadership, we aim to foster a legacy that persists long after the final whistle of the tournament.”
The FIFA World Cup 2026™ is expected to draw unprecedented global attention to the United States, making it the perfect platform to cultivate local engagement through sports. Through the Visa Street Soccer Parks and by supporting the individuals and small businesses behind them, Visa, Street Soccer USA, and Bank of America are already generating a positive community impact, creating spaces that will benefit local neighborhoods well beyond the tournament.
