As part of the scholarship program, recipients will not only benefit from financial assistance throughout their university studies, but they will also become part of a larger network focused on addressing critical societal challenges. By engaging with other scholars and Coca-Cola employees, these students can enhance their educational experience while developing valuable connections.
This scholarship initiative traces its roots back to 1970, when Coca-Cola companies across Japan began awarding unrestricted scholarships to outstanding high school students. Over the years, the program has produced 2,569 graduates by the end of March 2024. In 2020, the program evolved to support students whose studies align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the importance of nurturing environmental experts. Scholarship support now includes 20 undergraduates and 10 graduate students annually, reflecting the foundation's commitment to future-ready education that addresses pressing environmental issues.
