Discovering the World of Logistics and IT through Hands-On Experience
On May 24 and June 7, 2025, Pal System Federation, headquartered in Shinjuku, will host its unique 'Job Experience' events in Inagi City, Tokyo. Aimed at elementary school students and their parents, these sessions provide an engaging introduction to the logistics and IT systems behind home delivery services.
Popularity of Interactive Learning Events
The 'Job Experience' events allow participants to see the 'invisible jobs' that drive logistics. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with actual sorting machines used inPal System's logistics centers, complemented by original videos, informative panels, and tablets that enrich the learning experience. The entire program lasts about one hour, making it a perfect educational outing for families.
As a cooperative that delivers over ten million items weekly to around 800,000 households, Pal System utilizes advanced sorting equipment and information systems to ensure efficient and accurate deliveries. The events not only explain the mechanics of high-volume logistics but also offer insights into contemporary issues like the rapid digitalization of society. Parents and children will learn about sustainable practices such as pre-ordering necessary ingredients to reduce food waste, emphasizing the importance of environmentally friendly behavior.
Since launching the 'Job Experience' in 2023, over 1,000 participants, including students from local elementary and middle schools, have attended. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with children expressing enjoyment such as, "It was fun shopping on the tablet! I want to experience more!" Parents have also shared favorable remarks, noting that the experience was beneficial for adults as well, such as, "I learned new things too" and "My child is now more interested in food."
