KOITO's Exciting Showcase at Japan Mobility Show 2025
KOITO Manufacturing Co., Ltd. is set to participate in the much-anticipated Japan Mobility Show 2025, held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 29 to November 9. The event will showcase KOITO's commitment to the future of mobility, specially tailored with a focus on safety and reliability. As the company celebrates its 110th anniversary, it will unveil its ambitious "KOITO VISION - Illuminating the Future of Humanity and Earth" strategy, highlighting the transformative role of light in ensuring a secure mobility environment.
Innovative Solutions for Safer Mobility
At the heart of KOITO's display are three key areas that underline their technological innovations: Lighting, Sensing, and Communication.
Lighting Innovations
High-Definition Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB)
KOITO will demonstrate its cutting-edge High-Definition ADB technology, which utilizes 16,000 individually controlled LEDs. This advancement minimizes the areas of high beam illumination for oncoming vehicles and those ahead, maximizing the driver's nighttime visibility. The technology also includes precise adjustments to prevent dazzling pedestrians and reduce glare from roadway signs.
Snow Melting Lamp – Premier Introduction
In response to safety issues in colder regions, KOITO has developed a rear lamp equipped with a snow melting feature that helps to keep the lamp clear of ice and snow, thereby maintaining optimal visibility. The JS event will showcase the world's first thin design for a snow-melting headlamp that maintains vehicle aesthetics while enhancing functionality.
Driver-Monitoring Integrated Adaptive Front Lighting System
In collaboration with Denso and J-QuAD DYNAMICS, KOITO will introduce an evolved Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS). This innovative system detects the driver's line of sight and enhances illumination where needed, significantly improving safety during nighttime driving.
Sensing Technologies
KOITO’s lineup includes short, medium, and long-range LiDAR technologies that cater to various sectors, from automotive to industrial and agricultural applications. Visitors to the show can witness real-time demonstrations of these sensors detecting movements in a 3D space with high precision.
The
ILLUMIERE Movement Detection System, which accurately captures human and vehicle movements, has been gaining traction since its 2023 debut. It supports a variety of use cases, such as safety enhancements in factories and crowd management in public spaces, showcasing its versatility.
Communication Enhancements
KOITO will present the
Signal Road Projection headlamp, which will debut in the upcoming Toyota Corolla Cross. This feature illuminates a chevron sign on the road in sync with the vehicle's turn signals, effectively communicating its movements to pedestrians and other drivers.
Additionally, attendees can engage with the
Communication Concept Mockup, an innovative prototype that employs light to convey the vehicle's status and the driver's intentions to surrounding traffic participants.
KOITO will also introduce a
Concept Mockup for Extravehicular Lighting for the lunar explorer rover, developed in partnership with Toyota and JAXA, addressing the challenges posed by the harsh lunar environment.
