NX Belgium Expands Services with New Logistics Base at Brussels Airport

NX Belgium Expands Logistics Operations in Brussels

On May 16, 2025, Nippon Express (Belgium) NV/SA, a subsidiary of Nippon Express Holdings, Inc., inaugurated a new logistics base at the revamped Brucargo Central within Brussels Airport's freight zone. This move is expected to significantly enhance the quality of logistics services offered to clients in the healthcare sector across Europe.

The new logistics hub spans an impressive total area of 10,000 square meters, effectively doubling the space of their previous warehouse. This facility includes a controlled temperature section of 2,000 square meters designed for the storage of sensitive pharmaceutical products. The temperature is meticulously maintained in two specific zones: one between 2°C and 8°C for refrigerated items and another between 15°C and 25°C for constant temperature storage.

Safety and security are paramount in the logistics industry, especially when handling critical healthcare products. NX Belgium is installing a high-quality security system with the goal of achieving TAPA Level A certification. This certification will affirm that the facility meets the highest international standards for security practices, ensuring safe storage and transit of pharmaceutical goods.

The strategic location at Brucargo Central positions NX Belgium as the first operator to commence activities in this newly established logistics center, which aims to serve a range of pharmaceutical companies and contract manufacturers. Belgium's reputation as a hub for global pharmaceutical firms, vaccine producers, and biotechnology researchers underscores the relevance of this expansion. By relocating its headquarters and consolidating three existing sites into this new location, NX Belgium not only streamlines its operations but also amplifies its capabilities to cater to the growing needs of the healthcare sector.

This development aligns with the company's strategic focus on delivering high-quality pharmaceutical logistics services. NX Belgium has already made strides in this domain, becoming a member of Pharma Aero, an initiative aimed at improving standards and efficiency in air transport for pharmaceuticals. This partnership complements previous endeavors, such as obtaining Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification and establishing a dedicated healthcare division in 2024.

As NX Belgium continues to enhance its logistics services, the company is positioned to tackle the complexities of pharmaceutical logistics and support the expansion of healthcare companies. The ongoing investment in infrastructure, combined with a commitment to comply with stringent regulatory standards, showcases the ambition of NX Belgium in the European healthcare logistics landscape.

Ultimately, Nippon Express Group reflects a strong commitment to collaborating with clients and adapting to their evolving needs. As they leverage their vast global network and advanced logistics expertise, NX Belgium aims to fortify its role within the European market, driving growth in the healthcare sector and beyond.
