The GSV Cup has once again highlighted its role as a pivotal platform for identifying and accelerating groundbreaking companies in the education technology (EdTech) sector. On January 8, 2026, it unveiled the 50 most innovative early-stage EdTech startups at the ASU+GSV Summit, which will be held from April 12-15, 2026, in sunny San Diego. Presented by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and GSV Ventures, with backing from Pearson, the GSV Cup distinguishes itself as the premier launchpad for new educational solutions that push boundaries.

A Diverse and Global Selection



This year, a remarkable selection process led to over 3,000 startup nominations from around the world. The chosen cohort of 50 represents a powerful blend of artificial intelligence, innovative education techniques, and workforce development strategies. Notably, the selected startups hail from various continents, with a significant number—60%—designed for global markets. The companies are headquartered in countries like the United States, Iceland, Australia, Switzerland, India, and Norway, among others. The diversity of solutions they offer reflects a commitment to varying educational needs, as 38% focus on PreK-12 education, 16% cater to higher education, and 20% target adult and workforce learning.
