Disney has made an exciting announcement today, revealing that acclaimed actor Robert Downey Jr. will serve as the godparent for their latest cruise vessel, the Disney Adventure. This ship, hailed as the largest in the Disney Cruise Line fleet, is set to embark on its maiden voyage from Singapore next month.

Josh D'Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences and the future Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Our new ship continues Disney Cruise Line's tradition of bringing great stories to life at sea, and we are honored that Robert Downey Jr., who has guided audiences through unforgettable Marvel stories, is the official godparent for the Disney Adventure.”

Robert Downey Jr. is no stranger to the limelight, having portrayed Tony Stark/Iron Man, a pivotal character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The MCU is recognized as the highest-grossing film collection of all time, and Downey’s journey culminated in the monumental blockbuster, Avengers Endgame, which grossed over $2.79 billion globally. A Disney Legend since 2019, Downey is also poised to star as Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers Doomsday, premiering on December 18.

For the younger guests, Disney's Oceaneer Club offers the Marvel WEB Workshop, encouraging aspiring superheroes to test new suit prototypes and engage in training simulations using top-secret Avengers technology, enhancing the immersive experience.

Beyond the Marvel-themed attractions, the Disney Adventure promises to deliver high-quality entertainment, character encounters, Broadway-style performances, and an array of accommodations ranging from themed staterooms to luxurious concierge services.
