Hyundai Mobis Strengthens Electric Vehicle Production in Europe with New Slovakia Plant

In a significant step towards enhancing its presence in the European automotive market, Hyundai Mobis has officially commenced the mass production of Power Electric (PE) systems in Nováky, Slovakia. This new facility marks Hyundai Mobis' first PE production site in Europe, joining the ranks of its battery system assembly (BSA) plants located in the Czech Republic and Spain.

The Grand Opening ceremony held on September 2, 2026, was attended by notable figures, including Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and several high-ranking government officials, all of whom underscored the importance of this new venture in fostering strong economic ties. Aiming to solidify its position as a key player in the European EV sector, Hyundai Mobis' investment into this plant is significant, reflecting its broader strategy to accommodate growing consumer demands and market dynamics.

A Major Step for Manufacturing Capacity

The newly established plant in Slovakia spans approximately 106,000 square meters, equivalent to 15 football fields, with 8,500 square meters dedicated to production. This facility is expected to achieve an impressive annual production capacity of up to 280,000 PE systems. PE systems, often referred to as the
