In his new role, Buttshaw is positioned to lead a multidimensional strategy that encompasses several key operational facets including research and development, manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain management, and sales and marketing. His decade-long experience at MGP as the Vice President of Sales for Ingredient Solutions played a pivotal role in cultivating his strategic vision and strong business acumen, which contributed significantly to the business unit’s achievements. Buttshaw's leadership is expected to steer the Ingredient Solutions division towards new milestones, reinforcing its status as a leader in the food ingredient industry.

The Ingredient Solutions segment of MGP is renowned for producing specialty wheat proteins and starches that benefit industries ranging from commercial baking to a variety of food products. This includes well-known brands such as Arise®, Fibersym®, and ProTerra®. Under Buttshaw's guidance, the division aims to strengthen partnerships and develop innovative solutions to meet the evolving demands of its clientele.

Brandon Gall, the Interim President and CEO of MGP Ingredients, noted Buttshaw's extensive background in the food ingredient sector, which includes over 20 years at Hormel Foods and leadership roles at other industry stalwarts like Southeastern Mills and DSM Food Specialties. Gall expressed confidence that Buttshaw's appointment would lead to enhanced operational practices and innovative breakthroughs for the Ingredient Solutions division.

Buttshaw's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a focus on Mathematics from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Master's in Management and Marketing from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management. His commitment to the industry also includes active participation in organizations such as the Institute of Food Technologists and the Research Chefs Association.
