Yutong Opens Its First Comprehensive Service Center in Europe
On September 8, 2026, Yutong Bus officially opened its premier service center in Stokke, Norway, marking a significant milestone as its first comprehensive service facility in Europe. This center unifies essential services such as vehicle delivery, customer service, spare parts supply, and professional training, all aimed at enhancing the support for battery-operated electric buses throughout their lifecycle.
As Norway transitions to electric public transport, this new service center aims to bolster maintenance capabilities, compliance checks, and local customer service responsiveness for all-electric buses. The facility integrates several functions under one roof, offering customers a streamlined service option to address their needs more effectively.
Spanning approximately 38,941 square meters, with a building area of 6,074 square meters that includes a 2,300-square-meter spare parts warehouse, the center showcases a brand presentation area, vehicle delivery services, customer support, and training facilities. Jack Li, CEO of Yutong for Central and Northern Europe, described the center as a centralized service hub equipped with a substantial spare parts inventory, testing facilities, professional service stations, and specialized training equipment.
"Through efficient operations, we aim to lower our customers' total operating costs and maximize the bus availability," Li explained. This approach also seeks to foster partnerships and expand service coverage, balancing cost-effective services with value creation while promoting a greener, smarter, and more inclusive public transport system.
One-Stop Service Experience
Yutong’s local service center embodies a one-stop service experience, combining spare parts supply, fault diagnosis, maintenance, and professional training into a unified service framework. This increases service efficiency, delivering comprehensive fleet management for Norwegian passenger transport and bus companies throughout the vehicles’ operational lifecycle.
The center is designed with seven standardized maintenance bays and specialized workspaces for powertrain and large component repairs, equipped with advanced tools including four-post lifts, an electronic laser wheel alignment system, a brake testing station, and a high-performance tire balancing machine. It is equipped to handle various repairs on chassis, electric and high-voltage systems, powertrains, air conditioning, and interiors. Furthermore, it can manage vehicles with minor accident damages, alcohol interlocks, and tachograph installations.
To meet European standards, the facility houses a designated bus testing lane, compliant with Norway's annual vehicle inspection requirements. This includes a 31.5-meter inspection pit, two 16-ton pits, and equipment for brakes, lighting, and diagnostic checks, covering essential check-points to ensure road safety and compliance.
By conducting on-site inspections, fault diagnoses, and safety verifications, the center assists its clientele in minimizing fleet downtime and reducing operational costs.
Extensive Spare Parts Warehouse
A significant aspect of the operation is its 2,300-square-meter spare parts warehouse, which stocks over 4,500 part numbers of Yutong’s OEM parts for battery, engine, and electronic control systems, including components for drive systems and chassis. The local stocking strategy, complemented by supplies from regional distribution centers, reduces waiting times for procurement and repairs, thereby enhancing vehicle availability and minimizing fleet downtime.
To ensure quality and reliability, all spare parts adhere to uniform quality and warranty standards, supported by a local engineering team focused on providing parts supply, diagnostic, and maintenance services.
Building Local Expertise
Complementing its operational facilities, the center features training spaces for both theoretical and practical learning, conducted by experienced instructors. Equipped with a vast array of training platforms for electric buses and specialized modules for aspects such as HVAC systems, battery management, and electronic control systems, the center prepares technicians using real vehicle components for hands-on experience.
Through this local team, standardized maintenance, and inspection procedures, spare parts inventory, alongside training capabilities, Yutong reinforces its global service commitment under the service promise “EnRoute+.” This premier comprehensive service center not only highlights Yutong's commitment to its European clientele but also emphasizes the intention to expand, with further local service strategies anticipated in markets such as the Netherlands, Chile, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia, ultimately enhancing the local capacities for electric bus repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
As electric transport continues to evolve, Yutong’s establishment of this service center in Norway is a promising step towards boosting sustainable public transportation solutions across Europe.
