Advanced Radiology Services Partners with Covera Health to Enhance Diagnostic Quality and Patient Care

Advanced Radiology Services Partners with Covera Health

In a significant move within the healthcare landscape, Covera Health has revealed that Advanced Radiology Services (ARS) has joined its national Quality Care Program. This collaboration underscores both organizations' commitment to enhancing diagnostic quality and elevating patient care standards. As one of the largest private radiology practices in the United States, ARS is renowned for its extensive subspecialty expertise and unwavering dedication to quality improvement.

Leading the charge in this partnership are Dr. Ryan Duhn, President of ARS, and Dr. Andy Moriarty, Executive Vice President. Together, they aim to enhance diagnostic performance measurement and develop meaningful radiology quality metrics. An integral part of their strategy includes employing artificial intelligence to identify high-risk patients who could benefit from early intervention and more attentive follow-up care.

ARS currently supports six healthcare systems in Michigan, interpreting over 2.5 million studies annually. By joining forces with Covera, they align with a growing number of more than 1,100 sites nationwide, which are already collaborating with Covera to advance the standards of radiology care across the healthcare system.

Ron Vianu, the CEO of Covera Health, praised ARS, stating, "ARS consistently demonstrates what it means to practice radiology at the highest standard. Their commitment to advancing diagnostic quality and working collaboratively to define how radiology's value is measured makes them an ideal partner. Together, we're ensuring radiology is recognized not as a commodity, but as a cornerstone of effective, value-based care."

The partnership provides ARS with access to Covera's AHRQ-certified Patient Safety Organization and a national analytics platform, which facilitates peer-driven insights, benchmarking, and continuous improvement across various subspecialties. In addition, the collaboration aims to leverage AI to reveal clinically significant findings that could enhance patient outcomes, particularly for those at risk of complex or progressive conditions such as osteoporosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Dr. Ryan Duhn emphasized the mission of ARS, stating, "Our mission has always been to deliver excellence in imaging, and that means continuously improving how quality is measured and communicated. Working with Covera allows us to double down on our mission to ensure radiology continues leading in innovation, patient safety, and healthcare value."

Dr. Andy Moriarty also reflected on the significance of radiology in patient care, noting that nearly every patient's care journey involves this specialty. He expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, "Through this partnership, we have an opportunity to demonstrate that value more clearly, not just through interpretation accuracy, but through better identification of patients who need timely care and follow-up."

Together, Covera and ARS are setting the stage to redefine how quality is measured, improved, and delivered within radiology. Their aim is to cultivate an environment where excellence in imaging is acknowledged and rewarded, ensuring radiologists play a vital role in enhancing patient outcomes.
