Smartee Denti-Technology: Elevating Clinical Approaches for Complex Class II Cases at SIDO 2026

Smartee Denti-Technology's Impact at SIDO 2026

Smartee Denti-Technology recently took part in the 57th International Congress SIDO, held in Turin from October 8 to 10, 2026. This event gathered orthodontic professionals from around the globe, serving as a platform for the exchange of ideas regarding the management of complex orthodontic cases and how digital technology is evolving in clinical decision-making.

Under the motto "Beyond Alignment: Interdisciplinarity, Artificial Intelligence, and Clinical Experience in Orthodontic Decision-Making," the congress signaled a broader trend in orthodontics. This trend emphasizes therapeutic approaches that meld digital tools with clinical expertise and interdisciplinary assessments. For Smartee, it was an extraordinary opportunity to present its clinical focus on complex malocclusions while strengthening its relationship with the Italian orthodontic community.

Addressing Complex Class II Cases through Mandibular Repositioning

A key highlight of Smartee's participation was a clinical presentation by Dr. Jingting Lu, titled "S8-SGTB Correction of Severe Class II Maxillary Discrepancies." This presentation unveiled an innovative approach to treating Class II skeletal malocclusions associated with mandibular retrusion. Such conditions can lead to both maxillary discrepancies and a convex facial profile. Depending on the specific diagnosis and severity, conventional therapeutic options might include orthodontic camouflage or, in select cases, orthognathic surgery.

Dr. Lu elaborated on the clinical application of the S8-SGTB protocol, which forms part of Smartee's innovative Smartee GS system. This system integrates mandibular repositioning technology with treatment using transparent aligners. Her discussion encompassed patient selection, assessment of mandibular position, and treatment planning for patients with Class II maxillary discrepancies. In properly selected patients, mandibular repositioning offers an additional treatment pathway that considers the mandibular position along with dental movement and occlusal management.

Furthermore, Dr. Lu's presentation reflected a broader principle underpinning the GS system, which is to evaluate mandibular relationships in sagittal, vertical, and transverse dimensions rather than focusing solely on dental alignment.

Strengthening Ties in the Italian Market

Smartee’s presence at SIDO 2026 was also part of the company's ongoing development in the Italian orthodontic market. Through scientific meetings, clinical training, and direct interactions with local orthodontic professionals, Smartee is committed to deepening professional exchange and gaining a more profound understanding of the clinical needs of doctors in Italy.

As a result, Italy remains a focal point for Smartee's academic activities in Europe. Following the Smartee European Summit 2026 held in Mallorca, which assembled nearly 300 orthodontic experts from 27 countries, the company plans to host its next European summit in Rome in 2027. Participation in SIDO and the anticipated return to Italy for the European Summit 2027 underscore Smartee's continuous commitment to bolstering its clinical and academic connections in the Italian orthodontic landscape.

Smartee Denti-Technology’s approach at SIDO 2026 illustrates its pivotal role in pioneering clinical strategies for complex cases. By engaging with orthodontic professionals and sharing insights on advanced treatment methodologies, Smartee is not only enhancing orthodontic practices but also contributing significantly to the evolving landscape of dental technology.
