Tokyo's Advisory Board for Global Awareness
In an effort to equip children with a rich global perspective and cultural understanding from an early age, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has established the "Advisory Board for Creating Opportunities for Fostering Global Awareness." This initiative aims to help children envision a future in which they can thrive on the world stage.
The third meeting of this advisory board is set to take place on May 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in the Special Conference Room S2, located on the 33rd floor of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.
Agenda for the Meeting
The advisory board will focus on two primary themes during this meeting:
1.
On-site Research in Kindergartens and Nursery Schools: Discuss the findings and experiences gathered from practical research conducted in early childhood education environments.
2.
Initiatives to Foster International Awareness Appropriate for School-Age Children: Explore strategies and programs aimed at developing international sensitivities that are appropriate for children of school age.

This initiative is part of the broader efforts of the “2050 Tokyo Strategy,” emphasizing the importance of child-centric policies for establishing a sustainable future. The strategy aims to empower children to perceive policies from their own viewpoint and enhance their global understanding as future leaders.
With the Advisory Board’s ongoing commitment to nurturing a global mindset among the youth, Tokyo is taking significant steps toward preparing the next generation for a multicultural world, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and awareness necessary for success on an international scale.
