27th Danone Nutrition Forum: A Focus on Healthy Aging
The Danone Institute of Health and Nutrition is hosting its 27th forum, addressing the pressing issue of healthy aging, set to unfold on

Maru Building Hall in Tokyo. With average life expectancy continually rising—especially among those over 75— it is crucial to extend not just lifespan but healthy lifespan as well. This event seeks to tackle this very challenge through insightful discussions from leading professionals in the field.

Participants will receive a certificate for
2 credits from the Japan Dietetic Association for lifelong education, applicable only for those attending in person.

- - Keynote Address: Dr. Naoko Yamamoto, Vice President at International University of Health and Welfare, will deliver a keynote speech titled "Towards a Healthy Aging Society." Drawing on her experience with the World Health Organization, she will provide a global perspective on fostering a healthier aging community.
- - Lecture 1: Dr. Tomohiko Urano, also from the International University of Health and Welfare, will discuss the clinical perspectives of healthy aging, focusing on critical subjects such as frailty, sarcopenia, and locomotive syndrome.
- - Lecture 2: Dr. Shoji Shinkai from Showa Nutrition University will emphasize the significance of diet and nutrition in achieving healthy aging.
- - Lecture 3: Dr. Makoto Uchiyama, director of Tokyo Adachi Hospital, will examine the impact of sleep on the aging process.
