Eve Air Mobility Celebrates Milestone First Flight of eVTOL Prototype in Brazil

Eve Air Mobility has achieved a significant milestone in the realm of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) by completing the first flight of its full-scale, uncrewed electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) prototype. This remarkable flight, which took place at Embraer's test facility in Gavião Peixoto, São Paulo, signifies the official commencement of Eve's flight test phase and the affirmation of vital systems integration, including advanced fly-by-wire controls and uniquely designed lifter rotors.

He noted that the prototype behaved as predicted based on their models, providing data that will enable the company to safely expand the flight envelope and prepare for transitions to full wingborne flight scheduled throughout 2026.

Meanwhile, Jorge Bittercourt, the Chief Product Officer, highlighted the crucial findings from this inaugural flight, asserting that it sets the stage for enhancements that matter to operators, such as reliability, efficiency, and simplicity. With a clear indication of progress, Eve is gearing up to enter another phase that accentuates product maturation and operational readiness.

The subsequent steps for Eve's program include an incremental expansion of the flight envelope and transitions to wingborne operations. There will also be continuous engagement with ANAC and other relevant regulatory bodies like the FAA and EASA to ensure all criteria for validation are met.
