Midea Showcases Sustainable HVAC Innovations at C&R 2025 in Madrid

Midea's Sustainable Innovations at C&R 2025

From November 18-20, 2025, Midea Air Conditioning took center stage at the C&R 2025 trade fair in Madrid, showcasing an impressive lineup of sustainable technologies and products. This event, significant for professionals in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), marked Midea's continued commitment to environmental sustainability.

Highlighting the R290 Series

Midea's unveiling of the R290 series was a major draw, underscoring the company's mantra of "GREEN VISION BLUE FUTURE." Midea pioneered R290 air conditioners in 2010, backed by funding from the UN. With a production capacity of 6.4 million units annually across 12 advanced manufacturing lines, these eco-friendly solutions have significantly contributed to global CO2 reduction and have influenced international standards for natural refrigerants.

These R290 solutions cater to various sectors, including residential, commercial, and industrial applications. With a dedicated team of over 10,000 engineers and 42 testing laboratories, Midea has created a comprehensive suite of R290 products aimed at making sustainable technologies more scalable and accessible.

Innovative AI Technology: ECOMASTER

Another groundbreaking offering was ECOMASTER, an AI-based energy-saving system designed to optimize the performance of Midea devices, particularly air conditioners. This innovative system continuously monitors both indoor conditions and external weather factors, adjusting settings in real-time with a precision of ±0.3°C. Such optimization leads to energy savings exceeding 30%. Models like the Solstice and Solunar are integrated with this technology, achieving outstanding energy efficiency ratings (A+++ in cooling and A++ in heating for Solstice, and A++ in cooling and A+ in heating for Solunar).

Versatile PortaSplit Portable Air Conditioner

The PortaSplit, a portable air conditioner engineered for high efficiency and flexible installation, was also a popular attraction at the event. It boasts a SEER rating of 6.1 and an SCOP of 4.0, making it an exceptional choice for various building types, from modern apartments to historic structures. Its design allows for easy setup in multiple European window styles, ensuring that tool-free installations can be completed in just three easy steps. This product has already generated significant demand in the market, leading to a rapid sell-out in France.

Introducing H-Pack: A Compact Heating Solution

In addition to cooling products, Midea showcased the H-Pack, a compact heating solution selected for this year’s Innovation Gallery. Designed to utilize environmentally-friendly R290 refrigerant, H-Pack eliminates the need for external units and offers seamless compatibility with gas boiler systems. This modular solution simplifies installation and maintenance while ensuring efficient heating performance. Live demonstrations revealed the user-friendly design and real-world benefits, further piquing interest among attendees.

Fostering Professional Engagement

Alongside product launches, Midea emphasized professional development through interactive workshops during the event, enabling technical knowledge exchange and deepening industry collaboration. Midea's brand presence extended beyond the trade hall with promotional campaigns linked to its dual sponsorship of Manchester City and Sevilla FC, reinforcing its commitment to social engagement and dedication to operational excellence.

Looking Ahead: Midea's Vision

As Midea continually seeks to transform living and working environments through intelligent innovations, it remains focused on sustainability. The company envisions a future where collaboration between humanity and technology enhances life quality. Through its integration of KUKA industrial robotics and MIRA home automation technologies, Midea aims to redefine efficiency while enabling creativity and progress for users.

By participating in C&R 2025, Midea has reaffirmed its position as a leader in sustainable HVAC solutions that not only meet today’s needs but also the expectations for future generations.
