Kaori Hagiwara, known for her beautiful voice and evocative lyrics, has dedicated her new album to her deep desire for peace. This album draws inspiration from her heritage, which includes grandparents from the Amami Islands. Learning about her roots and the historical connection to Aikana (the wife of Saigo Takamori) greatly influenced her songwriting journey. Kaori's mission is to communicate themes about Japan's history, nature, and the message of peace through her music.
For this special album recording, renowned composers Kazuhana Maruyama and Yuichiro Onuki have collaborated on the arrangement. During the concert, Hagiwara will perform accompanied by piano and cello, showcasing how the new arrangements breathe new life into her songs. The evening will feature a blend of her tracks interspersed with engaging discussions about the artistry behind the arrangements, led by Maruyama, known for his work on popular programs like "Chura-san" and the orchestration for "Furuhata Ninzaburo".
The concert is divided into two parts: the first segment will focus on songs from the new album, followed by a vibrant second segment featuring young vocalists who studied musical theater at Showa University of Music. These talented performers will present beloved musical numbers, adding a delightful layer to the evening.
As a special finale, attendees will join Hagiwara in singing the album's heartfelt title track, "Hitorijanai yo," creating a communal experience that reinforces the concert's themes of togetherness and hope.
