Celebrate Uminomori Park's First Anniversary with Enjoy RUN

March 21st marks a special occasion for Uminomori Park as it celebrates its first anniversary. To commemorate this milestone, the park will host the Uminomori Park Enjoy RUN. This exciting event invites participants to run through lush greenery while soaking in the stunning views of Tokyo's skyline.

As part of the Spring Uminomori Festival taking place from March 20th to 21st, this event promises a unique blend of nature and urban scenery. If you love running or simply enjoy being outdoors, this is an opportunity not to be missed!

Event Details

Date and Time: March 21, 2024 (Saturday) at 10:40 AM
Location: Uminomori Park, Koto City, Tokyo
Free shuttle buses will be available from Tokyo Teleport and Shin-Kiba stations, but parking spaces are limited.

Experience the Beauty of Nature

1. Lush Natural Environment:
Participants will run through park paths surrounded by trees and expansive grasslands. The experience is designed to engage all senses as you embrace the vibrant greenery.

2. Stunning Urban Views:
Along the route, you’ll come across several viewpoint spots offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city, including iconic landmarks like Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree, all from the perspective of Tokyo Bay.

3. Horseback Riding Course Experience:
For unique fun, the event allows you to run along the cross-country course used during the Tokyo 2020 equestrian events, offering a chance to experience the undulating terrain that horses traversed.

Event Categories

1. Family Category (Approx. 2 km):
For pairs of children aged 5 to elementary school students with their guardians, up to 200 participants.

2. General Category (Approx. 6 km):
Open to individuals aged middle school and older, with a limit of 200 participants.
Please note that if applications exceed the quota, a lottery will be conducted.

Participation Fee

Participation is free!
All finishers will receive a special towel to commemorate their run at Uminomori Park.

Guest Runners

Join our thrilling guest runners as they lead you through the course:

• - Harry Sugiyama: A talented entertainer and ambassador for Tokyo, known for his expertise in running.
• - M Takashi: An athlete-comedian and supporter of breaking through barriers, he actively participates as a guest runner and MC at marathons.
• - Kaito Okada: Captain of Japan’s athletics team for the 2025 Deaflympics and a record holder, he brings inspiration to all with his impressive achievements.

Application Period

Participants can apply from January 28, 2024, to March 8, 2024.
Please keep an eye out for notification of lottery results by March 15, 2024, if applications exceed the participant limit.

Uminomori Park has been a beloved recreational area since it opened among 13 parks from the seaside park system in 1975. This special event is an excellent way to celebrate both the park’s beauty and its 50-year legacy.
