QinetiQ Strengthens Leadership with New SSA Board Appointments
In a notable move to bolster its leadership, QinetiQ has appointed experienced executive Brad Feldmann and financial management specialist John Kavanaugh to its Special Security Agreement (SSA) Board. Established in July 2020 as part of an agreement with the US Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency, the SSA Board plays a crucial role in overseeing QinetiQ US’s defense and security operations.
John Hillen, Chair of the SSA Board, emphasized that the strategic insight and vast experience that both Feldmann and Kavanaugh bring will significantly enhance the board's governance and oversee crucial operations in today’s intricate regulatory and security landscape. Steve Wadey, the Group CEO of QinetiQ, echoed this sentiment, highlighting that the duo’s complementary skills will be invaluable in addressing the national security needs of their US clients and facilitating sustainable growth in the defense sector.
Brad Feldmann comes to QinetiQ with over three decades of leadership experience across various esteemed organizations. His previous roles include positions at technology company Neology, defense and transport entity Cubic Corporation, and most notably, AEVEX, a prominent provider of airborne intelligence solutions. Under his stewardship, these organizations have seen significant growth through both organic strategies and acquisitions. Recognized for his significant influence in the business world, The Wall Street Journal honored Feldmann as one of the most influential business leaders globally in 2020.
John Kavanaugh, on the other hand, has a formidable background in finance and management. He served as the Chief Financial Officer at Perspecta, leading the company through its public launch in June 2018 before its acquisition by Peraton in 2021. His extensive experience includes executive roles at DXC Corporation, where he contributed to IT services, and a prior position as President of the Xerox Federal Solutions Group. Kavanaugh is noted for his strategic approach in managing large financial operations and driving growth.
These appointments come at a vital time as QinetiQ seeks to bolster its leadership following the exit of former board members Tom Vecchiolla and Dr. Pamela Drew. Vecchiolla has assumed the role of President and CEO of QinetiQ US, while Dr. Drew's recent passing marks a significant loss for the board and the company. The contributions of both former directors have been acknowledged, particularly Dr. Drew's impactful service.
